    Carolyn Pearson Jenkins

CAROLYN PEARSON JENKINS was born and raised in South Carolina. A former librarian, teacher, curriculum coordinator, curriculum designer, adjunct professor, and university trustee, Jenkins has experience working with students and curriculum. Her firsthand experiences and her BA Degree in English from Claflin University, her Master of Library Science Degree from North Carolina Central University, and her Ed. D. in Curriculum and Instruction Degree from the University of South Carolina at Columbia give her a solid foundation for contributing to the education field. She has received outstanding teacher and media specialist awards throughout the years. Because she is enthusiastic about learners having access to quality literature and curriculum options, she writes to fill the curriculum resource voids she feels exist in our schools. Blazing Toward Freedom: Septima Poinsette Clark’s Story from Slave to Queen Mother of the Movement is her first book.
